Paper Landscapes & Loops - 2013
In the Paper Landscape Series II
the opposing mediums of oil paint and
charcoal meet. On Arches “oil” paper,
oil paint behaves differently than on
canvas. It yields flat, velvety planes
of color that complement the richly
dark lines and textures of the charcoal.
This series of drawings maintains the
sculptural geometry of my paintings.
These shaped drawings can be floated
in a standard frame.
The Small Loop drawings led me to the
large Dune Loop drawings done in 2014.
