QUICK Guided Tour
Thanks for coming on this tour. Just a short intro then Yvette will take over.
Yvette Cohen likes to contrast and contradict normally accepted usages of color and form. Geometric and organic volumes provoke and achieve a sense of balance via oddity. With intuitive use of color and graphic design background, Yvette sets up a non-passive experience for the viewer. She works in series. "Juggling Rocks" with 35 works so far, reveal both a Zen flavor through a flat shape with a sense of volume, and Ms. Cohen's exploration for something beyond color. She searches for the void, the non-color beyond color.
ATOA's 63rd Open Studio "Three Woman Artists on Color" featured Yvette Cohen. Organized by Monroe Hodder and moderated by Barry Kostrinsky. 6/28/2021
