I love how graphite responds to the tooth
of the paper. I love the contrast of subtle
intimate marks that interact with strong
dark marks. I love that the marks on the
paper reach far into space. I love that the
marks mold the paper to make volumes.
I love that a gorgeous sheet of paper
allows me to lay out a drawing like my
own Japanese Zen garden.
