Building a Square, Paintings and Drawings
Building a Square began with the square as a point of departure. Through shaped canvases, color, surface, and wood dowels, I explore how a familiar geometric form can shift our perception of flatness, volume, and space.
The series includes more than 40 paintings made with acrylic and oil paint, wood dowels, and shaped canvases. The paintings mount directly to the wall without frames, allowing the shape of the canvas and the physical construction to become part of the work.
