Building a Square, Paintings and Drawings
My Building a Square paintings are a deliberate exploration of both physical and perceptual space. With their flat, simple form, they invite you to look beyond the surface. The canvas is not just a shape mounted on the wall; it becomes a window into an infinite, undefined space—a vastness and fluidity that extends far beyond the confines of the artwork itself.
This series of over 40 paintings, is made of acrylic paint and wood dowels on shaped canvases. The paintings mount flat against the wall without the need for frames. The more recent paintings are rendered in oil paint.
